South Carolina-based tuning company Himalaya is widely revered as one of the best Land Rover Defender innovators, and now it’s unveiling its biggest creation to date – the Land Rover Defender 130 ‘Summit Series’ in all-black.
Himalaya’s unique SUV proves that this genre can still be experienced in style and ultimate luxury. By way of example, the Summit Series Defender features a black leather-trimmed interior accented with all-round red stitching. Modern amenities like heated seats, a digital dashboard , a variety of BlackVue 4K HD cameras with 360° viewing and remote viewing and recording capabilities, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, and a 1,000-watt JL Audio DSP amplifier and eight JL Audio speakers in the cabin combine to make this a luxury SUV for both on-road and off.

As expected, our SUV also received a healthy performance boost. In place of tuning the existing unit, Himalaya has installed a supercharged Corvette LT4 engine that offers 650 horsepower, and paired it with an eight-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels. Braking power is courtesy of Brembo discs, while a unique four-link adjustable coilover suspension helps it cope with all types of terrain.
